Step 1: Blood collection and preservation
Norgen Biotek’s cf-DNA/cf-RNA Preservative Tubes are an easy-to-use tube for collection, preservation, storage and transport of whole blood. With one tube, you can preserve cf-DNA as well as cf-RNA for 30 days at room temperature (15-25°C). These tubes contain a formaldehyde-free preservative and are compatible with common DNA and RNA purification methods.
Step 2: Isolation of the cell-free nucleic acid of interest
Norgen offers a wide array of purification kits for plasma and serum, such as their Plasma/Serum Cell-Free Circulating DNA Purification Kits and their Plasma/Serum RNA Purification Kits. Both kits come in various formats, depending on input volume, and are available in slurry format as well as in a streamlined column format for isolation and concentration.
These kits allow for the fast and simple (15-45min) purification of cf-DNA or cf-RNA from fresh, preserved or frozen plasma/serum. In addition to being the perfect next step to Norgen’s cf-DNA/cf-RNA Preservative Tubes, they are also compatible with many other blood collection tubes.
