Setting a new standard in magnetic bead-based assays built with Mabtech’s trusted antibodies, buffers, and expertise

Combining Mabtech’s trusted monoclonal antibody pairs with magnetic beads, EYRAplex assays are designed to deliver reliable results every time. From focused 6-plex panels to broad 30-plex formats, EYRAplex lets you analyze more with less saving you time, resources, and sample volume.

The same, highly specific mAb pairs used in Mabtech's ELISpot, FluoroSpot, and ELISA assays are now available in a new multiplex format with EYRAplex.

EYRAplex advantages at a glance

  • Dramatically low sample consumption
  • Efficient (streamlines workflows by replacing multiple parallel ELISA assays with one integrated assay)
  • Lower cost per data point (fewer plates, fewer pipetting steps, and shorter assay time)
  • No heterophilic antibody interference* due to optimized detection mAbs and a specialized assay buffer
  • Can be used with either Mabtech EYRA™ or most flow cytometers

*Heterophilic antibodies, including human anti-mouse antibodies (HAMA), commonly interfere with assays, leading to false positives by cross-linking capture and detection antibodies or false negatives by blocking one of them. This issue increases in autoimmune diseases and infections, i.e., clinical samples.

What does your signal look like?

EYRAplex produces crisp, well‑defined fluorescent peaks, enabled by carefully optimized antibody pairings and precisely calibrated standard curves. This clarity ensures confidence in every PE signal—and in the quantitative data derived from it.

When benchmarked against other bead‑based multiplex platforms, Mabtech monoclonal antibody pairs demonstrate equal or greater sensitivity. Selecting and validating the right antibody combinations is a critical factor in assay performance, refined through decades of assay development experience.

What does this mean for your research?

Less uncertainty and fewer compromises—just consistent, dependable insights into immune signaling. EYRAplex supports confident decision‑making across translational research, vaccine development, and therapeutic discovery.

How efficient is your assay?

EYRAplex is designed to generate more data while using fewer resources than traditional ELISA. Its true single‑well multiplexing capability allows multiple analytes to be measured simultaneously, significantly reducing sample requirements compared with single‑analyte ELISAs. This makes EYRAplex particularly valuable for precious or volume‑limited samples.

By consolidating multiple assays into one streamlined workflow, EYRAplex eliminates the need for parallel ELISA plates. Fewer reagents, reduced hands‑on time, and shorter assay duration result in improved consistency and throughput.

For CROs and pharmaceutical teams running high‑throughput studies or complex biomarker panels, this translates into lower cost per result, improved scalability, and greater confidence that every sample generates meaningful data.

How robust is your assay to interference?

EYRAplex maintains reliable performance even as rheumatoid factor levels increase, while non‑optimized assays often show rising false‑positive signals under the same conditions.

Many multiplex assays are susceptible to heterophilic antibody interference. Antibodies such as HAMA can disrupt results by cross‑linking assay antibodies or blocking antigen recognition, leading to false positives or suppressed signals. These effects are particularly pronounced in clinical samples.

EYRAplex addresses this challenge through the use of optimized detection monoclonal antibodies and a specialized assay buffer designed to minimize nonspecific interactions—resulting in cleaner data and higher confidence, even in complex clinical matrices.

Bead IDs: the key to multiplexing

At the core of magnetic bead-based multiplexing lies the Bead ID.

In EYRAplex assays, each magnetic bead is dyed with a unique ratio of fluorescent dyes, creating a distinct Bead ID. A specific capture antibody is immobilized on each bead type, linking the Bead ID directly to a single analyte. This elegant design enables true multiplexing allowing all analytes to be measured simultaneously in a single well using a shared PE detection signal.

Mabtech EYRA™ with the RAWsphere algorithm identifies the Bead ID and quantifies the PE signal intensity, easily matching each fluorescent event to its correct analyte.
