SARS-CoV-2 positive donor blood products
Zen-Bio now offers blood products from COVID-19 convalescent donors as positive controls for assay development:
- Whole blood
- Plasma or serum
- PBMCs
Donors are confirmed COVID-19 positive by:
- A diagnostic test (e.g., nasopharyngeal swab) at the time of illness
- A positive serological test for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies after recovery
SARS-CoV-2 cell pellet blocks
SARS-CoV-2 cell pellet blocks are ideal controls for testing antibodies and detection reagents directed against SARS-CoV-2. Blocks contain paraffin-embedded HEK293 cells transfected with viral proteins. These cell blocks can be used as positive controls for cell/tissue staining.
The block size is 2.2 x 2.2 x 0.5 cm (the diameter of cell pellet is around 0.7 cm) but can vary based on the nature of the disease or tissue type. Cells were fixed with 4% PFA 15 min at room temperature.
