Histone Peptides and microarrays
AltaBioscience has provided custom synthesis of histone peptides from human H2a, H2b, H3 and H4 regions for more than 18 years, having collaborated with the original scientist who developed the idea for histone assays.
Each set contains peptides with modifications such as methyl lysine, dimethyl lysine, acetyl lysine, phosphorylated amino acids and citrulline. In addition, they supply biotinylated histone peptides, including those in Histone Set 5 Sequences.

The peptide sequences are derived from human histones H2A, H2B, H3 and H4 and include a range of modified amino acids.
Their ready-to-use histone peptide arrays are effective, convenient and made to the same high standards as our individual peptides. Ideal for assay development, regulatory studies and assessing the quality of antibodies used in reporter systems, these peptides are also powerful tools for epigenetic studies including:

Fmoc protected amino acids
Fmoc is a convenient amine protecting group that is often preferred over Boc protection due to its compatibility with a wider range of amino acids, its mild deprotection conditions with piperidine, ease of purification, increased peptide yield, and reduced risk of peptide racemisation.
Our Fmoc amino acids also bear a range of side chain protecting groups, which are essential for enabling selective chemical reactions and minimising unwanted side reactions during peptide synthesis. These protecting groups are stable during the synthesis process but can be easily cleaved by treatment with trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), hence ensuring effective coupling and purer peptides.
