FPLC (Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography) is a liquid chromatography that is often used to analyze or separate compounds from a mixture of proteins. In FPLC, the mobile phase is an aqueous solution or buffer. The stationary phase is a resin contained in a column. The sample is introduced into the column and migrates into the resin following the flow of the liquid phase. The different components of the sample will then bind or diffuse into the resin. There are several types of FPLC depending on the resin used. Compounds can be separated by their size (size exclusion chromatography (SEC)), by their charge distribution (ion exchange chromatography) or by their biological or chemical affinity for the resin used (affinity chromatography).

For ease of use, a wide range of pre-filled columns for techniques such as ion exchange, gel filtration (size exclusion), hydrophobic interaction and affinity chromatography are available. It is also possible to opt for empty columns in order to fill them with the resin of one's choice.

Protein Ark’s HiFliQ® 1 ml and 5 ml FPLC columns come pre-packed and ready for use with pre-charged Heparin, Nickel-NTA, Cobalt-NTA and Glutathione Agarose resin for affinity purification of Heparin-binding protein, poly-histidine and GST-tagged recombinant proteins. We also offer Protein A & G HiFliQ® FPLC columns, and Q-type & S-type HiFliQ® FPLC columns pre-packed and ready to use for simple, one-step and rapid antibody purification.

These columns are compatible with all common chromatography instruments (including AKTA™ FPLC’s) and a wide range of reducing agents, detergents and other buffer additives. Our Heparin, Nickel-NTA, Cobalt-NTA and Glutathione Agarose chemistries are coupled to HP resin to ensure high selective binding capacities.

The Cobalt-NTA Agarose resin provides high binding capacity with minimal Co2+ ion leakage for high stability, chemical compatibility and reuse. Compatible with all common liquid chromatography instruments (including ÄKTA™ FPLC’s), peristaltic pumps and syringes.

Proteus FLiQ are robust empty FPLC chromatography columns that can be filled with any agarose resin (1ml, 5ml, 10ml and 20ml). They are simple to self-pack and compatible with all resin types. Both ends of these columns have 10-32 UNF threads which fit common chromatography instruments such as ÄKTA.
